Man attempted to disarm officer during arrest, Jesse Iker, 27, charged in two robberies

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an investigation into two robberies.

It is alleged that:
- on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at approximately 9:40 a.m., a man entered a bank in the Yonge Street/Gerrard Street area
- indicating he had a gun, he made a demand for money
- the man fled after obtaining money

It is further alleged that:
- later, at approximately 5:35 p.m., the same man entered a restaurant in the Yonge Street/Wellesley Street area
- indicating he had a gun, he made a demand for money
- the man fled with the tip jar

On Sunday, January 3, 2016, at 5 p.m., officers on patrol spotted the suspect.

It is further alleged that:
- the man resisted arrest and attempted to disarm one of the officers

Jesse Iker, 27, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) two counts of Robbery
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Fail to Comply - Probation
4) Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
5) two counts of Assault Police Officer
6) Attempt Disarm Peace Officer

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, January 4, 2016, room 101.
