41 Division:  416-808-4100

The Toronto Police Service will continue to be diligent in education and enforcement strategies to enhance the safety of the public, including pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, within our communities. Increased enforcement during the 41 Division Reducing Collisions Campaign, will take place during the week of Monday, August 10, 2015 to Sunday, August 16, 2015.

Motorists are encouraged to obey all rules of the road and be aware of their surroundings. Motorists are also encouraged to slow down and they are encouraged to refrain from using any hand-held device that may distract then while driving.

High-accident locations and intersections will be targeted and see increased enforcement. The enforcement initiatives for community safety will also continue throughout the year.

All officers from 41 Division will pay particular attention to those motorists who run traffic lights and stop signs, commit offences at pedestrian crossovers and crosswalks and include turning offences, unsafe lane changes and speeding offences. Officers will also be concentrating on distracted driving and motorists using hand-held devices.

All motorists and pedestrians should also be encouraged to avoid using electronic devices, whenever they are on or near the roadways.
